The boundaries of the Forest Hill South neighbourhood are Eglinton Avenue West to the north, Bathurst Street to the west, Avenue Road and Oriole Parkway to the east, and part of St. Clair Avenue West and Lonsdale Road to the south.
Forest Hill was founded in 1923 and is divided into a northern and southern part (being Forest Hill South). It was previously known as Spadina Heights. The “forest” of Forest Hill no longer exists. However, city by-laws state that any home designed by an architect in this neighbourhood was required to have a tree planted at the front of the property. So, there’s still plenty of greenery in this area.
This category of Toronto real estate leans towards residential properties. There are plenty of shops and dining options in Forest Hill South, though. And excellent access to public transportation makes it easy to get to wherever you’d like.
If you have children (or would like to start a family), the neighbourhood has fantastic public and private school options. There are many families in the area, so you’ll feel right at home. The green space, especially the Kay Gardner Beltline Trail, a former commuter train track that’s been given new life as a fitness trail, gives you a chance to get out in nature without leaving the city.
